The Salmon Faverolle chicken breed was developed in the French village of Faverolle and was developed from crosses of Houdans, Dorkings, and Asiatic chicken breeds. Originally bred for utilitarian reasons, they are now raised mostly for poultry shows or chicken hobbyist.
